A little update
Deutschland:
I have no other words to describe germany other than that it is nothing less than amazing. I arrived September 1st and haven’t had a boring day yet. I am already in love with the culture and am positive that I want to work and live abroad in my life at some point. I’ll just hop right into explaining my trip thus far with a little jumping around of topics so try and stay with me here…
The house is awesome, its 17 of us staying in this frat/real world type house, 9 guys and 8 girls which at times is more than overwhelming. So far everyone gets along great and each day we learn a little bit more of each persons life story. For most of the trip thus far we have been traveling together as a group which to me can be painful because trying to organize and have decisions made between 17 twenty-something year olds isn’t the most pleasant thing. I have noticed also that when you start traveling with people you will see different sides of them…an interesting side note to always keep in mind. The group tours we have been going on can be as boring as watching paint dry; yes I like learning all of these facts about the history of cities and the stories of the churches, buildings, etc but most tours spend an excess amount of time explaining things I could really care less about. For me I would like to hear about and see these buildings but maybe if it could be a tour on crack, something that moves faster and gives the basics. I would rather wander my way through a city finding my way in back alleys, stopping at dive-bars and really experiencing culture that isn’t served on a silver platter to tourists.
